MSSQL Change Edition
NOTE: The example screengrabs below are from an upgrade from SQL2019 Evaluation Edition to SQL2019 Enterprise Edition.NOTE: This example assumes a full GUI version of Windows rather than Windows Server Core (those steps are TODO).NOTE: SQL Server Installation Center will be available from your start menu.
As long as you are sure your server is licensed for Enterprise Edition (perhaps you are licensed for EE Maximum Virtualisation but have deployed SE on some of the VMs), you can upgrade a SE installation using a key retrieved from an EE installation ISO. The key is held in SQLSetup_x64_ENU\x64\DefaultSetup.ini
It can take several minutes after pressing Upgrade before the process completes.
