Oracle OpenJDK vs Oracle Java SE

The key takeaway is that Oracle Java SE is covered by a different license agreement to OpenJDK and that license agreement might mean you are liable to pay for your license and support. Later versions of Oracle Java SE and OpenJDK share source code and are functionally identical (although there may be additional proprietary plugins available with Oracle Java SE).
